3.42 Total effective bond.  Amount of bond area in fitting flange or lap splice whether or not bond is continuous.

3.43 Vertical edge looseness.    Separation of rubber material (fillet) from the vertical surface of the metal fitting.  Around the entire metal fitting is an acceptable condition for urethane fuel cell. Unacceptable for nitrile fuel cells and crash-resistant construction.
